What happens if a member of the Trio is unavailable?
- The time and date of your event is confirmed upon receipt of your signed contract and a non-refundable deposit of $100. This guarantees the Trio for your event. The contract and deposit can be sent electronically or by mail.
How far do you travel?
- We perform within the St. John's metro area. This includes Mount Pearl, Paradise, Conception Bay South, Torbay, Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove, Flatrock, Pouch Cove, Bauline, Portugal Cove-St. Philips, Petty Harbour-Maddox Cove.
How far in advance can we book?
- The Trio is currently taking bookings for 2023. We will begin booking for 2024 in the fall of 2023.
What music will we need to choose for our wedding?
- Processionals: Usually one for the bridal party and a separate song for the bride’s entrance. Or if you have a short aisle/ a small bridal party, you may want to go with one processional for all
- Signing of the Register
- Recessional
- Communion Hymn or Presentation of Gifts (if having mass with communion)
How do we decide on music choices?
- Please visit our Repertoire Listing. We would be delighted to discuss music choices with you to ensure your wedding is beautiful and memorable. We can provide you with sample programs, repertoire suggestions, and sound clips to help. Our favourite is a mix of classical and modern! Some churches have restrictions on certain songs and will need to approve your final selections.
Can we request a song not in your repertoire?
- Yes! A request for a new song is a wonderful way to add a unique touch and personalize your ceremony. We can arrange a song request for you for $75 with 1 month's notice. (Not all songs may be suitable for string trio, but we will try!)
What do we need to provide on the day?
- Our only requirement is that you provide us with three chairs, without arms, set up where we will be performing. Usually this is just off to the side from the officiate with a clear view of the aisle.
Do you come to the wedding rehearsal?
- No. The rehearsal is a time for you and your bridal party to understand how the service will work. With many, many weddings under our belt since 2000, we are very familiar with ceremony procedure. We always check with the officiate on the day-of to confirm how your service will unfold.
Do you perform parts of the mass?
- No. We will perform the wedding ceremony highlights, as well as during communion or meditation if requested. Parts of the mass should be performed by an organist/accompanist and cantor who can be usually be arranged through your church.
Do we perform with singers and other soloists?
- Not usually. If you have a trained performer with appropriate repertoire & accompaniment we can discuss the possibility. An extra fee for a rehearsal with the soloist will apply.
Can we book for extra hours on the day?
- Yes! This is possible as long as we have no other engagements. We can perform during parts of your reception, such as cocktail hour and dinner. Please see our rates for more information.
Can you play outdoors?
- Most likely. Depending on your venue and back-up plan for inclement weather, we are able to accommodate most outdoor ceremony requests between June - August. Please keep in mind direct hot sun, drizzle and rain, as well as winds can cause damage to our valuable instruments therefore we always prefer some type of shelter, such as a veranda or gazebo. There is no refund if the weather conditions are unsuitable and you do not have an indoor weather plan.
What happens if the wedding is running late?
- We understand that weddings do not always run exactly on schedule and try our best to be as flexible on the day-of as much as possible. Like other vendors, we may have other events scheduled on your day so a delayed start may affect the amount of postlude we can provide. Couples will incur a $75 fee for each additional 15 minutes the ceremony extends beyond the booking end time.
What happens if a member of the Trio is unavailable?
- As professional musicians and members of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, we will contract suitable replacements if required that are well versed in our repertoire and performance standards.
